Relieve Pain & Remove Infection
Our dentist at The Hunt Club Dental Centre prioritizes the preservation of your natural teeth whenever possible. However, in cases where a tooth is beyond repair or poses a threat to your oral health, extraction may be necessary.
For example, if a tooth is severely damaged due to decay or trauma, it may need to be removed to prevent further infection or damage to surrounding teeth.
Wisdom teeth can also cause issues if they do not fully emerge or grow in at an angle, leading to pain and potential infection.
Additionally, extractions may be performed to make room for teeth that need to be shifted into place.
Whatever the reason is for your tooth extraction, our dentist will help ensure that you are comfortable and informed throughout the process.
Wisdom Tooth Removal
Wisdom teeth are the last set of molars to erupt in the back corners of a normal adult mouth, usually between 17 and 25 years of age.
This third set of teeth is not always functional, and can crowd out other teeth as they develop. They may also create problems with your oral hygiene. In these cases, your dentist may recommend removing them.
Repairing Excessive Damage
Your dentist will work to save a tooth whenever possible. However, there are circumstances, such as injury or gum disease, which may require an extraction.
If you have a damaged tooth that needs to be extracted, your dentist will discuss tooth replacement options with you, which may include dental bridges, dental crowns, and dental implants.
